We learnt that the private jet landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, in the early hours of Thursday, September 18 from New York.
The G650 which has a cruise speed of Mach 0.85 to 0.90, with maximum speed of Mach 0.925 and a range of up to 7,000 nmi (13,000 km), is arguably the fastest civilian jet in the world. Gulfstream described the aircraft as ultra-high-speed, ultra-long-range business jet and the gold standard in business aviation. G650 has some of the most sophisticated avionics rivaling nearly anything in the sky, and it’s also perfect for doing business on a global scale.
Former Borno State governor, Ali Modu Sheriff, was said to be the first to acquire the jet in Nigeria.Kalu, who became a governor at the age of 38, is one of the richest past political office holders in the country. He is believed to be eyeing Abia North senatorial seat on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the coming general elections.
